Americans kicked the Republicans out of the House, the Senate and the White House and yet their leaders continue to rely on and perpetuate ineffective racial stereotypes while promoting and inciting racial warfare. After this historic general election which saw the election of America’s first black president you would think the Republicans would’ve learned some lessons over they last two years.
But I guess they haven’t. They just don’t get it.
Will Republicans ever wake up?
Will they ever realize that America has changed, THE WORLD has changed?
Their only hope of ever regaining the reigns of power is by accepting the changes that have occurred in the political and cultural landscape of America and by rebuking and removing individuals like Chip Saltsman from within their ranks.
Now, the political strategist part of me wants them to keep it up ( it makes Democrats look really awesome..no lie) but the moral ‘do wants best for the country’ part of me, (you know us do-gooder liberals..lol) wants them to put an end to it NOW since that type of talk does more harm to the nation than good.
And you know what’s funny some of them are putting their hopes for 2012 in an Indian American and Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal .. do you think he would like listening to the songs on that CD distributed by Chip Saltsman?

Obama is still smoking. You know it and I know it and if you believed that he really had quit that smile he gave on Meet the Press yesterday was a dead giveaway that he hasn’t.
According to him he’s tried to quit and he’s ‘ fallen off the wagon a few times ‘, code words for, ” You know I do, but you just wouldn’t catch me…” lol
But people, is it really a big deal that he smokes? Don’t we have bigger things to worry about?
We’re losing our jobs and our homes. Our country is falling apart, state by state, figuratively and physically and we’re worrying about whether or not the man at the wheel, effectively in a few weeks, gets a bit of satisfaction from puffing on a cigarette?
Gimme a break!!!
Smoking is a digusting habit and Obama should try really, really hard to quit for his own health but I for one am not going to be worried about whether or not he lights up in the White House. I’m more worried about whether or not I’m going to have a job next year and if I’m going to be able to get a student loan for law school.
And if you don’t have more important things to worry about good for you, you’re definitely one in a million but the press et al shouldn’t try to convince me that Obama’s disgusting habit is one of the things that I should lose sleep over ’cause he isn’t (believe me he’s more worried about Detroit collapsing) I’m not and I’m sure millions of my fellow Americans aren’t going too either.

Not a bad consolation prize..
But Richardson’s confirmation might not be as easy as he or Obama first thought. Negative press is never a good thing for a nominee, even if your party IS the one in power.
I guess this also means he wouldn’t be sporting the beard for a while, that’s too bad he looked great with a beard.

On November 5th, 2008 my mother went to my dad’s grave and laid a wreath in celebration of Barack Obama’s victory the night before.
As I answered the phone that joyful morning a tearful voice greeted me on the other end,”I’ve just come from your dad’s grave,’ she sobbed, ” I told him the revolution we always talked about has finally taken place…”
With tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat I told my mom that I wish I had been with her to say a few words as well. What I would have said? I can honestly tell you I don’t know and that’s one of the reasons it has taken me this long to write this blog.
Words CANNOT and DO not do Obama’s election to the highest office in this land and arguably the world, justice.
How can they?
Words cannot adequately express the effect of 300 years of slavery and another 90+ years of segregation/Jim Crow on a people can they? And words cannot express what it means to me and countless others like me black or white to see a black man lead a nation that once classified black people as nothng more than cattle.
How can words….they are no words that adequately express that triumphant feeling in my mother’s heart as she spoke those words at my father’s grave that morning just as they are no procedures that could bring my father back to life to witness that pivotal moment in Grant Park but on November 5th 2008, the revolution he always preached, longed and sometimes even begged for finally came I hope that he is finally, finally resting in peace.
