Every Friday I’ll be posting a clip from classic (70s, 80s and 90s) Sesame Street. I still love Sesame Street but today’s Sesame Street can’t compare to the Sesame Street I watched as a kid!
This first clip I’ll be featuring is Dr.Thad and the Medications with The Ten Commandments of Health!
My favorite part: I love how the docs and nurses keep pushing the blue guy/patient back unto the table!! Hilarious!

Denmark just elected its first female Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt . Thorning-Schmidt leader of the Danish Social Democrats ended the far right’s 10 year lock on the Danish government. She led her party (a four party coalition actually) to victory by capturing 89 seats in Denmark’s 179-seat parliament effectively bringing to an end 10 years of center-right rule.
Just one more lady out there doing her thing an inspiring more young women around the world to get up and start doing rather than just talking.
Congrats to her and to the Danish people!

Black women aren’t pretty! Well, maybe the light skinned ones are but MOST DEFINITELY NOT the dark skin ones! This isn’t a new topic. I don’t know how many times I’ve heard this from the mouths of men of all different races but it doesn’t just come from men it also comes from women, BLACK women as well. Big shock? Nope, we hate on ourselves the worst. Given the recent controversy surrounding the Psychology today article written by Satoshi Kanazawa of the London School of Economics asking “Why Are Black Women Less Physically Attractive Than Other Women? Why black women, but not black men ?” I hope that the ‘shadeism ‘ that exists within our own community is discussed and that we don’t just admonish Kanazawa but we admonish all those who attempt to degrade and denigrate black women especially our dark skinned black women.

Keith Olbermann, the dude that made MSNBC has decided to ditch the liberal news channel or is it the other way around? I dunno I’m not an insider but I can honestly say that Olbermann’s audience, in fact most of us who follow politics, never saw this coming to say it’s a surprise is the equivalent of saying with certainty that Neil Armstrong never really walked on the moon it was all fake.
I can’t wait to read all the juicy details in Huffington Post, Salon or Politico ’cause you know it will be there but apparently Olbermann and MSNBC, according to the WSJ, had been discussing parting ways for some time. Really?! Wow! Who would’ve known? Countdown has been just as good as it always had been. And I think most of us thought the two parties had kissed and made up after Olbermann’s political donations to democratic campaigns this past November. Guess dude really wanted out wonder where he’s going to end up?
As a liberal political analyst or commentator he would probably be welcomed to comment on the day’s issues at most national networks but as an anchor what national network would be willing to have him on their prime time lineup? CNN? We’ll just have to wait and see.
And what will the 2012 presidential elections be without Keith Olbermann? I can’t imagine. Noooooooooooo! I will not tolerate such talk so let’s end it now…..lol oh well, no more Countdown, at least we still have Rachel Maddow.
The language coming out of these two little girls is filthy and despicable! How does one allow a child to be filmed saying such disgusting inappropriate language. I’m not claiming that kids don’t swear most children will say something ‘cuss’ worthy at some point in time but the incident shouldn’t end up on youtube for the entire world to see. But the fault in this case clearly does not lie with the children..they are children..little kids..the adult in this case was clearly prompting these little girls and if anyone should be blamed it’s her and what gets me is that she’s laughing through the entire video which makes me either want to vomit or slap her..I haven’t quite figured it out yet.
And another thing there seems be an entire market or niche out there for these types of videos. Check out how many kids cussing videos they are on youtube.
I can’t believe I’d never seen the movie Flash Gordon, the 1980 version, until yesterday.
This movie was so much fun! I couldn’t stop watching it. I was laughing so hard my neighbors probably thought I had finally lost my mind. The rampant sexual innuendo, overt S&M imagery and the campy kitch feel of the entire movie was enough to add it to my ‘must buy’ list.
I’ve seen some weird headlines in my life hell I’ve probably written a few myself but this is definitely one of the weirdest headlines and story I’ve ever seen from a mainstream news source!
It’s been on for less than ten minutes and I can’t keep from smiling. It’s so great to have them back on tv. With all the s%$# going on around us it’s nice to feel like an excited 12 year old kid again, if only for a few minutes.
