No doubt, things are bad out there. Obama is trying his best but to be honest it doesn’t seem to be working.
But I don’t care how bad things are with me, I would have to be so damn desperate (dying of thirst and my legs shot off) and without any hope of reaching a lake or fresh water river before I drank MOP SODA.
I’m sure you’ve seen the smart mop ad. It’s the one where this guy, pitchman Anthony Sullivan, squeezes spilled soda from a mop into a glass as he explains how awesome this ‘smart mop’ is and tries to convince you that times are so tough we can’t afford to waste even one glass of spilt soda.
I don’t know where the marketing and advertising people came up with that concept but it sucks because most people I know, even the ones hurting for money, are not going to drink soda squeezed from a mop!
What were the ad people thinking? Using that as a reason to buy the smart mop is not smart-it’s simply disgusting.
Obama is still smoking. You know it and I know it and if you believed that he really had quit that smile he gave on Meet the Press yesterday was a dead giveaway that he hasn’t.
According to him he’s tried to quit and he’s ‘ fallen off the wagon a few times ‘, code words for, ” You know I do, but you just wouldn’t catch me…” lol
But people, is it really a big deal that he smokes? Don’t we have bigger things to worry about?
We’re losing our jobs and our homes. Our country is falling apart, state by state, figuratively and physically and we’re worrying about whether or not the man at the wheel, the President of the United States gets a bit of satisfaction from puffing on a cigarette?
Gimme a break!!!
Smoking is a digusting habit and Obama obviously tries really, really hard to quit for his own health but I for one am not going to be worried about whether or not he lights up in the White House. I’m more worried about whether or not I’m going to have a job next year and if I’m going to be able to get a student loan for law school.
And if you don’t have more important things to worry about, good for you, you’re definitely one in a million but the press et al shouldn’t try to convince me that Obama’s smoking is one of the things that I should lose sleep over ’cause he isn’t (believe me he’s more worried about Detroit collapsing) I’m not and I’m sure millions of my fellow Americans aren’t going too either.
***UPDATE*** As of March 1, 2010 Obama is still smoking..and the world is still turning!
I should be talking and writing about other things ( i.e, the economy going to hell in a handbasket, the first presidential debate on Friday, the Michigan polls, the Palin phenomenon ) I know, I know but the new PC ad just cracks me up and not in a good way.
As Gob from Arrested Development would say, ” Come on!”. I don’t care how many celebrities or prominent leaders they get to sign on to the ad or how many times they run it the fact remains it doesn’t even come close to beating one of the MAC vs PC ads. Not one! And they were getting played out after a couple of months believe me!
But If I were an advertisng exec for Apple I would be LMAO right now at the gift they just handed me, because it just confirms everything MAC has every said about PC and I didn’t have to spend a dime.
Hmm..I’m watching Obama on MSNBC right now talking to families in Las Vegas and he’s wearing this oatmeal colored suit, he looks good of course but I’ve never seem him wearing anything other than black or blue before did Michelle finally buy him a new suit? lol.
Check out the video it’s so nice to see him wearing something other than black or blue….
This cash tax rebate that both Barack and Hillary are talking about will only ’jump start’ the economy if people spend it..and if times are hard people are more likely to save rather than spend..of course here comes ‘mr.popular’ John Edwards talking about how proud he is to be there..blah, blah and only answers the question about the stimulus package after Wolf prods him..lol
Wow Barack mentioned Edwards’s father working in the mill before he did.’..wow..lol
Clinton is talking about a moratorium on foreclosures for the next 90 days, freezing of interest rates, transparency and investigation sovereign wealth funds in Singapore, Korea and Japan who are being approached by CITI bank for funding.. (a sovereign wealth fund is a fund owned by a state composed of financial assets such as stocks, bonds, property or other financial instruments).
Obama, talks about an energy policy in helping to rebuild the economy again. Talking about restoring accountability and regulatory financial oversight over the markets.
Edwards, talking about jobs, universal health care and he’s talking about creating a million jobs and cracking down on ‘predatory’ pay day lenders..
