Edwards’ staff were planning to sabotage his campaign if he won..

john edwards had no chance

It seems John Edwards was screwed from the beginning as he was out screwing around!!!!

Even his own staff didn’t want anything to do with him after they confirmed for themselves that he was having an affair. And according to George Stephanopoulos his own staff were planning on sabotaging him if he’d won the nomination!!!

Can you believe that? Talk about being stabbed in the back..

But seriously if you think about the situation it’s entirely in the relm of possibility especially in the world of politics-which is notorious for being a dog, eat dog kinda world.

But what I can never understand is why do their wives stay? And no I don’t believe the reasons Elizabeth Edwards gave to Matt Lauer this morning, because I believed he cared about other people’ and ‘because I really believe in the words better or worse’  blah, blah blah etc etc.

Gimme a break Elizabeth, you’re a smart woman, but that statement is almost, almost,  as unbelievable as the response your husband gave during one of the presidential debates, ” If there’s one flaw I have it’s that I care too much…” remember that one?

From Elizabeth Edwards, to Hillary Clinton to Silda Spitzer these high profile women were embarassed and disrespcted publicly by their powerful, philandering husbands yet they all stayed and continue to stay with a man that seemingly cares very little about them or their marriage vows.

I think the real reason these smart, beautiful, accomplished women stay with their cheating husbands is because of the status, fame etc etc they gain/have gained by being the wives of these politically, powerful men.

Because as we all know trust can only be broken oh so many times before it’s gone completely and if there’s no trust in a marriage there can be no meaningful marriage or relationship. Period.

Ladies, I guess one of the only benefits of being the wife of a poor man is that when he cheats on you you get the satisfaction of telling (yelling most likely..lol) him to,  ” Pack his bags and get to hell out!” LOL

Israel calls the shots in the final days of Bush administration?

olmert-and-rice

According to Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert he forced the Bush administration to sit out a vote in the UN Security Council.

According to Olmert he called Bush and told Bush to reign in Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

Now this could be a whole lot of bs from Olmert but the fact that he’s  willing to say this on the record shows that he has no fear of repercussions from the incoming administration and it really displays how powerless this Secretary of State has been in advancing peace between Israel and the Palestinians.  And in effect it reinforces the opinion of many out there that Rice has presided over a number of foreign policy failures/blunders.

Somehow, I don’t think the incoming Secretary of State , Hillary Clinton, will be as ineffective as  her predecessor.

Brothel patron Vitter seeks more disclosure from Clinton

david-vitter3

I know Senator David Vitter (R-La.) was just trying to score some cheap political points with his base today with his intense questioning of Hillary Clinton and donations made to her husband’s foundation at her confirmation hearing before the senate foreign relations committee.

I’ll admit that Vitter’s questions were indeed justified but it still pissed me off to hear him try to question Hillary and Bill Clinton’s ethics and the conflicts of interest that could ensue between her work as Secretary of State and donors to her the Clinton foundation.

How dare he?

Vitter should be the last person to question anyone’s ethics or try to force disclosure on anyone!!!

Hillary Clinton and Obama together in Florida

Hillary Clinton and Obama are appearing side by side in Florida together.  In fact check out the live feed.

A few minutes ago she gave a warm introduction to Obama. I still don’t think she means all of what she says but it was  awesome to see them together.

And Obama even got the audience to chant Hillary’s name.  He even talked admirably and glowingly of her. Now, this is what we should have seen more of over the last couple of weeks.

Obama’s VP, who will it be?

So, the wait could finally be over, Obama according to news sources is finally ready to announce his choice for VP.

I am on the edge of my seat.  We could know THIS WEEK, the other half of an Obama presidency. This man or woman (probably not) would be part of a historic campaign and an even more historic presidency.

Oh why, oh why couldn’t it have been me?..lol

I have a sneaky suspicion that his choice will be someone that we didn’t even suspect was in the running or even hone in on but at the same time I’m pretty certain it wouldn’t be the dream ticket choice of Hillary Clinton, but hey he could surprise us all and choose Ms.Clinton.

Former Senator Sam Nunn’s name has been bandied around left and right and many have floated the possiblity of a Joe Biden vice presidency but I really don’t like either of these choices but for the same reason.

While Sam Nunn and Joe Biden have significant foreign policy experience neither man can help Obama win states that he couldn’t have won without them. So in my book they should be ruled out simply because they don’t bring enough to the table.

Senator Evan Byah of Indiana and Gov. Tim Kaine of Virginia on the other hand could help Obama win their  respective home state come November. Since they are not only popular with their base constituencies but also with independents and moderate leaning Republicans they could help Obama solidify and reassure skeptical white working class men and women about an Obama presidency. And while we can wish it wasn’t so or even try to wish it away at the end of the day Obama does and will need to calm any fears within this particular constituency in order to win the election and Byah and Kaine can help him to do so.

In the long run, Obama’s lack of of foreign policy and national security experience, can be compensated for with a campaign focus on national issues which are of greater importance this election cycle and in the end he must win the election and carry the electoral college in order to become President and that must be the central focus of the campaign.

Clinton supporters should ‘get over it’..

If they want to win back the White House come November.

Apparently Obama during a meeting with the Black Congressional Caucus made this statement in reference to the ‘healing’ that still needs to be done by many Clinton supporters,

I need to make a decision in the next few months as to how I manage that since I’m running against John McCain, which takes a lot of time. If women take a moment to realize that on every issue important to women, John McCain is not in their corner, that would help them get over it.

Apparently, Rep Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas, an ardent Clinton supporter took offense to the last three words, ‘get over it’ and she told Obama as much.

However, though I’m sure Obama meant no offense I must say that I do believe that those Clinton supporters who are still harbouring ill feelings towards Obama should ‘get over it’. Clinton lost, he won but WE all want to win come November and we can’t do that if they don’t and wouldn’t get over the primary results.

We can’t win in November with a divided party and in this election unlike many others in the past, every single vote and I mean EVERY single vote will matter. This election the choice couldn’t be more simple.

Do you want another eight years of disaster or eight years of prosperity?

Believe me, I can understand how many of her supporters feel in some of my earlier posts I was leaning towards not supporting Clinton or the Democrats if SHE won but I finally came to the conclusion that I want what’s best for America and regardless of the outcome between the two, Obama and Clinton, voting for John McCain was not an option!

And I hope that Clinton’s supporters realize that before it’s too late.

Besides, like my mom always said to me when I lost a race (I did athletics in high school..), ” There’s always next time…”

R-E-S-P-E-C-T Senator Hillary Clinton..

In a few minutes Hillary Clinton will concede to Barack Obama at a rally today at the National Building Museum.

Regardless of all that has been said about Senator Clinton, including many comments I have made on this blog, I congratulate her and her supporters on a job well done!

WEll DONE, MY FRIENDS!!!

Many of us have not always agreed with the tactics you and your staff chose, in order to reach the highest office in the land, however your historic campaign has shown men and women alike that the presidency of the United States is truly, within the grasp of female hands.

Senator Clinton will seek to not only endorse Obama but to unify the Democratic Party by urging her supporters in particular to support and vote for the presumptive Democratic nominee.

Frankly I don’t know if her supporters will fall into line behind Obama however her efforts from henceforth will prove how much she cares about her own legacy, her party and her country.

And should she help to deliver the White House in 2008, to Democratic hands, she can rightfully claim a legacy of her own, while seeking to create a future and a career fully detached from that of her husband’s and for that any woman deserves RESPECT!

Hillary Clinton is a woman scorned..

So last night she refused to concede defeat or even acknowledge Obama’s victory while at the same time she kept sending word via media reports and ‘exclusives’ that she’s ‘open’ to the VP slot.

Today, with yet another day passing and her stubborn refusal to concede defeat she has dispatched her surrogates and campaign staff to various outlets around the country with an agenada of pushing for Obama to give her the VP slot.

How arrogant!

How ungracious!

How unbelievable!

I understand that this is a difficult time for Senator Clinton she has lost a race and a nomination that was once inevitably hers but if the shoe was on the other foot would Obama and his supporters have any clout in convincing her and her people in choosing him as her VP?

Come on!!

Hillary Clinton is behaving like a woman scorned and a vindictive one at that and in the end it will cost her and her husband their reputations and their standing within the democratic party-their strong arm, underhanded tactics have already cost her the nomination I guess they figure they have nothing else to lose.

***Update*** She plans to concede and congratulate Obama on Saturday at an event to be held in D.C.

Obama, the ‘official’ Democratic nominee by this time next week

So says Harry Reid Senate Majority Leader and Speaker Nancy Pelosi in an article on the New York Times  website Harry Reid said, “By this time next week, it will all be over, give or take a day,”

Wanna bet Ms.Clinton and her supporters say, “Not so fast you two….,” LOL..

***Update****  Pelosi warns Clinton supporters but will they heed her advice?

Chelsea Clinton for President? You gotta be kidding..

What’s this? Do all the Clintons have plans of occupying the White House?

First the dad got it, now the mom wants it and soon the daughter might go after it..man,  I’m serious, the Clintons seem to think that the White House is their permanent home address..lol

Anyway, apparently Chelsea’s dad, Bill Clinton, thinks that his little girl might have political aspirations after being a surrogate for her mother this primary season.

All I have to say is if Chelsea Clinton plans to run for any office in this country, she’s gotta toughen up quite a bit and acquire some thicker skin. Cause the questions are going to be a whole lot tougher than the ones (or lack thereof) she got from a college students.

In addition, she wouldn’t or shouldn’t have the protection of her parents anymore and disparaging comments on the scale like the ones made by MSNBC’s David Shuster are going to come fast and furious and the journalists that state their observations aren’t going to be suspended or disciplined for reporting their conclusions instead they will be encouraged.
