Mark Sanford is a poet..

the poet mark sanford

I just finished reading a few excerpts from emails between Mark Sanford and his mistress and I have to confess I’m actually starting to feel a bit sorry for the guy (I’m sure that’s going to disappear soon..lol)!

And I usually don’t have any sympathy for men who cheat on their wives particularly sanctimonious men but in this case it does sound like he’s in love with Maria.

I know that doesn’t excuse what he did and if I was his wife, he would’ve received divorce papers long ago but these recent revelations by Republican politicians of extra marital affairs should force the GOP to accept the reality that they cannot govern or dictate what men and women do in their bedrooms.  And that their so called ‘family values’ party is and has always been just a figment of their imaginations.

Gov. Mark Sanford was having an affair!!!

mark sanford has a big headache

Now this is all makes sense..

He developed a relationship with a friend..is this friend male or female?

And now he’s crying even more..MY GOD!!! Now he admits he was unfaithful with a friend. He developed a relationship with a dear, dear friend from Argentina!!

My God these Republicans and their family values..you see, they don’t practice what they preach!!!

And that’s the height of hypocrisy!!!

Why can’t these men live up to their own standards?

And the new Chairman of the Republican National Committee is..

MARYLAND RACIAL POLITICSkaton-dawson

Michael Steele, former Lieutenant Governor of Maryland or  Katon Dawson  Chairman of the South Carolina Republican Party. Since they are the two remaining candidates in the race for Chairman of the Republican National Committee.

Sorry, to tease you like that..lol.

Anyway, I think Michael Steele has this thing..but we’ll have to wait and see. They’ve adjourned for 15 minutes so we’ll probably know in the next hour.

Can you imagine the two leading faces of the major political parties in America could  be black?

Sweet!

Times are definitely changing.

The Clinton campaign’s disgusting, political tactics

hillary-behind-a-curtain.jpg

So Obama is only where he is because he’s black.

Forget about his intellect, his determination, his hard-work, his charisma, his personal integrity etc…forget about all of that…he only got where he is because he’s a black man in America, because being a black man in America comes with loads and I mean loads of advantages..LOL LOL…LOL..LOL..

Now you know it doesn’t surprise me that one of the Clinton people Geraldine Ferraro, former Democratic Vice Presidential candidate and Clinton fundraiser would make such a demeaning comment about Obama.

From the onset of this process the Clintons have been trying to relegate Obama to the sidelines and to confine him in a political box by simply defining him as the ’black candidate’.

Bill Clinton tried in South Carolina with his comments about Jesse Jackson when no such question was posed. Didn’t work!

But that was just the tip of the iceberg before that there was the fairy tale comment, Hillary Clinton and the Martin Luther King needed Lyndon Johnson comment and the Ed Rendell and whites not voting for Obama  comments (this maybe the case but should it be accepted and reinforced by a governor/elected official?) and those  are the comments that have garnered national attention!

Who knows what else has been said at the rallies and events when the cameras were turned off and the reporters weren’t listening?

I understand that this is national politics and if you’re going to play with the big boys and gals you’ve got to throw down. You’ve got to punch hard and be able to take a few punches as well but the Clintons have taken this political boxing match to a new level in trying to appeal to their base supporters.

Clinton, as I’ve discussed before appeals to a specific type of voter in the democratic party white, uneducated, low income individuals. And these individuals in particular look at Obama with some reservations some will claim that it’s because of his lack of  so called ‘experience’, his policies etc, etc but I believe that if we strip away the facade and the bs, many, low income, white voters have their reservations because of the color of his skin.

We can examine the reasons for this in another blog but in all honesty this is their choice if Obama is unable to sway them with his arguments and his message and his beliefs then Clinton should receive their vote and vice-versa.

However, what truly bothers me and many other black voters, to be so presumptuous, is the fact that the Clintons who were so warmly embraced by the African American community would so readily exploit the reservations of this particular community (and that of the Hispanic community as well) for their own political advantage.

And these efforts have exposed the ‘true’ political selves of the Clintons and they have shown themselves to be just as capabale of maintaining, perpetuating and exploiting stereotypes of African Americans as many others white politicians have done and continue to do.

The Clintons were supposed to be the antithesis to this type of politician but instead they have shown themselves to be cut from same cloth as all the other politicians  regardless of party affiliation and thus they do not deserve to be held up as beacons of virtue in the black community.

The Clintons have exposed themselves once too many times this political season and the fact that the candidate or the campaign have not distanced themselves and fired Ms.Ferraro is a silent signal to those in her base who fear or might be slightly uncomfortable with the idea of the first black presidency that once again the only reason Obama is here is because he’s black and if you don’t vote for Hillary then that’s exactly what you’re going to get and that this is something to fear and reject.

I’m disgusted and ashamed of the Clintons but not at all surprised and neither should you what should surprise you, is if it fails to work in Pennsylvania?

*Update* Ferraro resigned but you know what the damage has already been done..

And for the record..I don’t think or believe for a moment that Ferraro or the Clintons are racist but I do believe that the Clinton campaign has been trying to capitalize on the fears and in some cases the prejudice that some people have in regards to black people and to me the minute you do that, that is unacceptable regardless of your race..**

Clintons marginalise, minimize, ignore, snubb and disregard Obama’s win because he’s black

Well he just got that scholarship because he’s black!

Well he just got that job because he’s black!

Well he just got that grant because he’s black!

You know what? many successful black people have heard it all before but we just didn’t expect to hear it from the Clintons.  Keep showing those true colors, please keep showing them…

For anyone who disputes whether or not the Clintons have been the ones injecting race into this campaign check this out.. but the kicker is if he had lost they would’ve said IT WAS BECAUSE HE WAS BLACK!!!

Blogging the Republican debate in Florida..

Will there  be fireworks…I hope so..I really hope

Punches galore in South Carolina last night and I loved it…

It was brutal last night..

Last night I watched the South Carolina debate and I enjoyed every minute of it..

Unlike many doing the post debate analysis I don’t see anything wrong with Obama and Hillary going after each other’s jugulars. It was long, long overdue and it made for great television. I was literally jumping around my living room..lol

For the first time I can honestly say I got to see ‘true’ glimpses of how Barack and Hillary would respond under pressure and THAT was amazing! Barack gets really angry when others call him out and Hillary hates to be reminded that she’s not as great or as honest as she portrays herself  to be man I would love to see what they were like backstage after the debate.

And I just loved the looks she gave Barack, I’ve seen those looks on my mom many, many times..lol

Hillary and Barack attacked each other’s records and candidates SHOULD attack the record of their opponents and they SHOULD call out their opponents on behaviors that are unsavory or untruths that are being perpetuated by the opposing campaigns.

However, when surrogates are powerful spouses (former presidents) are used to do the attacking that’s grossly unfair and in my opinion unacceptable. However, I will say this I don’t think many of the attacks on Obama by Hillary were meant for the South Carolina audience or electorate.

I think that Hillary’s shots at Obama were targeted to show up Obama to her base and to cause a specific type of Democratic white voter to rally to her side.

You see, in the New Hampshire primary Hillary won because one of the main components of her base white, uneducated, women came to her defense and I think those barbs at Obama where aimed primarily to show those white women and men in other states (to some extent) that Obama is a black guy who doesn’t like to take responsibility wink, wink like so many other BLACK guys you know..wink, wink just like how Barack’s Wal Mart comment was meant to show that she’s not as concerned about the little guy as she says she is…one was punch to the face, the other was a punch to the stomach..which hurt more?  I don’t know.

At the end of the day I wouldn’t say that Hillary’s or Barack’s comments were unfair or unwarranted it was a fair and entertaining night of politics-American presidential politics.

And if either one of them can’t stand the heat they should get out the kitchen because it’s going to get a whole lot hotter between now and November!

BTW..Barack was the best candidate last night he won hands down and that’s a first for him at these debates….

South Carolina on fire!!!!

Man, was I wrong, I really thought the dems would come out and play nice..I was wrong..really wrong!!!

The only one who really didn’t get attacked was Edwards but he doesn’t really matter does he however he has been going after Obama with as much vigor as he did Hillary at one of the previous debates interesting is he trying to play both sides?

I wonder…

Clinton being booed after saying Obama doesn’t take responsiblity for his voting record..

Both Edwards and Clinton talking about credit cards and the interest rate limits,

Clinton is being booed after saying that he never takes responsibility for any vote and she says it very difficult to have a debate with him..talking about a particular bill and a postion he took on the bill for victims of sexual abuse,

Obama is explaining his record in the Illinois senate, he says that they have combing his record trying to present them in the worst possible light, Obama just said that most people would say anything to get elected!!!

Hillary looks like she could kill Obama..

John Edwards is trying to get his two cents in by asking why he voted present rather than showing up or taking difficult positions or vote against a bill..

Edwards is going after Obama as well about his voting record in Illinois…

South Carolina, is the best democratic debate so far..it’s on fire!!!

CNN/Congressional Black Caucus Democratic South Carolina debate…

Tonight the three, but really two ’cause Edwards really is a non-entity, Democratic candidates meet in South Carolina for their last debate before the South Carolina primary on Saturday.

I don’t expect any major controversies and I don’t think Hillary or Barrack will go after each other tonight, it’s Martin Luther King day for goodness sake to go after each other TONIGHT would be unaccceptable..I don’t think so but for millions of people out there it would…so I’m sure tonight will be cool, calm and basically uneventful.

But as usual I’ll keep you updated on the going ons….
