” We will not fail,” Sen Ted Kennedy delcares

Today at Obama’s Health Care Summit at the White House Senator Ted Kennedy who doesn’t appear to be ailing, declared that this time ’we will not fail’ at achieving health care reform/universal health care for all Americans.

It seems Sir Ted is ready for a fight. Brain tumor be damned!

You go Sir Ted!

On another note, I love these White House/Obama summits. In January there was the Fiscal Responsibility Summit today it’s the Health Care Reform summit. It’s so healthy and democratic to see the President and our political leaders, Republican and Democrats, working together on a issue if only for one day.

I know it’s just one big photo op nevertheless it’s extremely refreshing and it makes for riveting day time television.

Senator Ted Kennedy is NOT dead…

 

 

So why are the major networks talking as though he is?

Senator Ted Kennedy has been diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. It’s a serious, serious, serious health concern and he should be in all of our thoughts and prayers.

However, what’s bothering me is the coverage of this event. All the major anchors and networks are covering this as though he’s dead.  They’ve been asking his fellow senators for their thoughts about him, co workers who worked with him about what it was like working with him etc, etc and their tone has been so somber that if you weren’t following closely you would really think he’s past on.

I mean come on people, the man is probably in his hospital room watching all the coverage wtih a confused look on his face and asking his wife Vicki, “Hon, I’m still alive right?”

I really think the tone could be more positive rather than so somber if there is anyone in the Senate who can beat this ‘thing’ it would be Ted Kennedy so reporters and anchors shouldn’t be writing his eulogy just yet.

 

Ted Kennedy endorses Obama..

Now that is a coup!

Ted Kennedy, one of the biggest lions in the Democratic party  by passes Hillary Clinton and endorses the guy that Caroline Kennedy, his niece, the daughter of John F Kennedy also has endorsed!

Now, I’ve said before that endorsements really don’t matter and in the grand scheme of things they don’t but when you get ones as big as Ted & Caroline Kennedy the support that these two bring from the establishment base of the Democratic party as well as their  money and connections you’ve got to pause and say maybe, just maybe this black guy could pull this thing off..

But we’ll see..we’ll see..

And  you know what it’s such a slap in the face to the Clintons even better in my opinion.
