Could swine flu be the next global pandemic?

As Mexco appears to be on voluntary lockdown  and some other nations shut Mexican and American meat products out in response to the swine flu outbreak. I can’t help but wonder if this is the big one? The long overdue pandemic  (a pandemic is a global epidemic that spreads to different continents) scientists and TV shows have been warning us about this for years now.

We had to deal with SARS and avian flu a few years ago and the world escaped from those relatively unscathed when compared to the deaths and economic losses suffered during the 1918 Spanish Flu pandemic.  That pandemic killed an estimated 50 million people!

Hopefully, we’re able to dodge the bullet one more time with the understanding we might not be as lucky the next time.
